Scope

This notice covers the crateview.de project website and its documentation. A self-hosted Crateview registry interface is a separate service whose operator is responsible for its data processing.

Serving the website

Visiting the website requires processing connection data, including your IP address, requested URL, time of access and browser-provided details such as browser, operating system and, where supplied, referring page. The website cannot be delivered without this connection. The website is hosted by netcup GmbH, Emmy-Noether-Straße 10, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany. As the hosting provider, netcup receives connection data needed to deliver and secure the website.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is reliable and secure operation. Access logs are deleted or anonymized within 30 days. Data relating to a specific security incident may be needed until it has been resolved.

Language and color preferences

On your first visit, the website considers the language supplied by your browser. The crateview-language cookie remembers the language in use for up to 365 days and is refreshed when you choose a language. The crateview-color-mode localStorage entry remembers your color preference (system, light or dark) until you change it or clear website data. These values control presentation and contain no user identifier.

These preferences provide the requested language and color presentation (§ 25(2)(2) TDDDG). Where personal data are processed, the basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our interest is providing your chosen presentation. You can block or delete cookies in your browser and remove localStorage by clearing website data. Your preferences may then no longer be remembered.

Search, content and external links

Documentation search uses this website’s content. The website code does not integrate analytics or advertising trackers. Fonts, product images and icons are served through the website.

Links include GitHub, Buy Me a Coffee and tobiaswaelde.com. Following a link leaves this website; the destination receives connection data and may receive a referring-site indication from your browser. Its own privacy notice applies to your visit.

Contact

If you contact us by email or telephone, we process your contact details and message to handle and answer your request. Email and telephone providers involved in the communication may receive these data. Providing information is voluntary; we may be unable to reply without sufficient contact details.

Contract-related enquiries are processed under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; other enquiries under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in communication. Enquiries are deleted once resolved and no statutory retention duties or necessary evidential purposes remain.

Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. Contact the controller listed above to exercise these rights.

You may complain to a data protection supervisory authority, particularly where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred. The authority for the controller’s location is the Independent Data Protection Center Saarland (datenschutz.saarland.de). We do not carry out automated decision-making, including profiling.
